ALCS Building Substitute / Assistant Substitute Coordinator Impact Christian Schools Madison, WI Job Details Part-time 9 hours ago Qualifications Working with students Working with youth Full Job Description Building Substitute / Assistant Substitute Coordinator Reports directly to the School Principal and serves as a member of the support staff Bachelor's degree in education-related field and previous teaching experience is preferred Summary of Position The Building Substitute / Assistant Substitute Coordinator is responsible for training, managing, and scheduling substitute faculty and staff, tracking and reporting all substitute hours, and filling the role of substitute as a first response to absences. This is a non-exempt, part-time position with fluctuating schedule up to 40 hours per week during school months. The qualified candidate will be willing to embrace the mission of Abundant Life Christian School and available to work flexible hours to accommodate calling substitutes and assisting with the communication of lesson plans. Please review our Statement of Faith (click to review prior to completing application) Essential Job Qualifications Be a spiritually mature and growing Christian who is active in his/her Christian life, able to serve as a positive Christian role model in speech, actions and attitudes (both on and off campus) and model a consistent daily walk with Christ Be a servant leader Have a calling to ministry in and through education Must enjoy working with young people Follow the Matthew 18 principle in interactions with parents, students, staff, and administration Must have an understanding of and commitment to ALCS' education objectives and philosophy of education Individual Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal relationship skills Strong work ethic and is self-motivated Effective multi-tasking, troubleshooting, and time management skills Flexibility and adaptability to schedule and other changes Excellent judgement and discretion Be effective in oral and written communication Be a team player, responsive to school staff and administration Functions and Duties Serve as the first point of contact for substitutes checking in each morning Manage a pool of on-call substitute faculty and staff providing communication and training as needed Serve as the building substitute as the first response to absences daily before outside substitutes are called in As a substitute, instruct students in multiple subjects, using a variety of teaching methods and technology aids and materials Willing serve as a substitute in non-teaching roles as needed (ie. offices, kitchen, and other support roles) Work with school administration to train substitute faculty and staff; ensure they are familiar with the school, mission, policies, procedures and resources Manage schedules for substitutes by putting their daily schedule together, greet them and ensure they know where to go, and address any questions Manage feedback to and for substitute teachers; collect and track feedback from substitute teachers, share feedback with them as necessary, and determine when a substitute teacher is no longer needed Track substitute hours, verify substitute hours for payroll, and work with school administration to ensure accuracy of leave reports and substitute pay Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or apparent Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to respond to coverage needs
