In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson implementation, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive environment for children of diverse needs. Your energy and proactive approach will help create an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing space that promotes academic growth and social development for all students. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to early childhood education and special education initiatives, ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed. Duties Assist classroom teachers in delivering instruction aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities Support students with individual education plans (IEPs), including those with autism or other disabilities, by implementing tailored strategies and accommodations Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment Prepare instructional materials, assist with lesson planning, and help set up classroom activities that promote hands-on learning experiences Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch periods, and other school-related events to ensure safety and engagement Foster strong communication with students, teachers, parents, and specialists to support student progress and well-being Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress notes, and behavioral observations to inform ongoing instruction Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, private schools, or special education programs is highly desirable Knowledge of early childhood development principles and childhood education practices including Montessori or preschool methodologies Familiarity with curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management strategies Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or autism by applying appropriate instructional techniques and patience Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with educators, parents, and support staff Classroom management skills that foster a positive learning environment while maintaining safety and discipline Relevant certifications or training in special education, behavior management or childcare are a plus but not required Join us in making a meaningful difference!
