Madison District Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for our elementary classrooms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students General knowledge of academic subjects relevant to position assignment Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced school environment Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions Ability to attend to behavioral/academic needs of assigned students while following prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs Demonstrated ability to work effectively/cooperatively with student, parent, and staffESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist teachers in delivering instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities Support students individually, in small groups or in large groups in various school settings under the direction of the classroom teacher Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment Provide for the well-being and safety of those students assigned to their care Follow Federal Law, State Law, and District polices/procedures at all times Other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or administratorBENEFITS
