Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team as a Registered Behavior Technician . As an RBT, you will work closely with students who have developmental disabilities, providing support and assistance in a clinic setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students/clients to help them reach their full potential. All individuals must complete the Registered Behavior Technician 40 hour module based training as a requirement for the position . Training as a Registered Behavior Technician will be provided upon hiring.
Duties:
  • Provide one-on-one instruction to students/clients, reinforcing concepts taught by the instructor
  • Support students with goals in the areas of social skill development, language and communication, self help skills
  • Work with a children with a variety of needs some of which use assisted communication devices
  • Assist with team dynamic by participating in a positive and compassionate learning environment
  • Help students learn self help skills, language and communication skills, learning skills, and social skills
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
  • Collect data on student/client progress
  • Celebrate students reaching their goals
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including behavior technicians, Behavior Analysts, and client school support personnel, to support client progress
Skills:
  • Experience working with students who have developmental disabilities
  • Interested in learning research based methods for teaching children using individualzed approaches
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of students/client during incidental teaching
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment This position requires a high level of dedication and commitment to supporting students with special needs.
