Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team as a Registered Behavior Technician . As an RBT, you will work closely with students who have developmental disabilities, providing support and assistance in a clinic setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students/clients to help them reach their full potential. All individuals must complete the Registered Behavior Technician 40 hour module based training as a requirement for the position . Training as a Registered Behavior Technician will be provided upon hiring.
Duties:
Provide one-on-one instruction to students/clients, reinforcing concepts taught by the instructor
Support students with goals in the areas of social skill development, language and communication, self help skills
Work with a children with a variety of needs some of which use assisted communication devices
Assist with team dynamic by participating in a positive and compassionate learning environment
Help students learn self help skills, language and communication skills, learning skills, and social skills
Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
Collect data on student/client progress
Celebrate students reaching their goals
Collaborate with other professionals, including behavior technicians, Behavior Analysts, and client school support personnel, to support client progress
Skills:
Experience working with students who have developmental disabilities
Interested in learning research based methods for teaching children using individualzed approaches
Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of students/client during incidental teaching
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment This position requires a high level of dedication and commitment to supporting students with special needs.
