Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work closely with students who have developmental disabilities, providing support and assistance in a clinic setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students/clients to help them reach their full potential. All individuals must complete the Registered Behavior Technician 40 hour midule based training as a requirement for the position. Further training as a Registered Behavior Technician will be provided upon hiring.Duties:
- Provide one-on-one instruction to students/clients, reinforcing concepts taught by the instructor
- Support students with goals in the areas of social skill development, language and communication, self help skills
- Work with a children with a variety of needs some of which use assisted communication devices
- Assist with team dynamic by participating in a positive and compassionate learning environment
- Help students learn self help skills, language and communication skills, learning skills, and social skills
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
- Collect data on student/client progress
- Celebrate students reaching their goals
- Collaborate with other professionals, including behavior technicians, Behavior Analysts, and client school support personnel, to support client progress
Skills:
- Experience working with students who have developmental disabilities
- Interested in learning research based methods for teaching children using individualzed approaches
- Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of students/client during incidental teaching
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment This position requires a high level of dedication and commitment to supporting students with special needs.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$16.00- $18.
