Standard Internship $ Paid $10.00/hr Full Time Part Time Description The Compass Church Daycare and Preschool (aka, Little Learners) is non-profit, registred child care ministry for children age 6 weeks to 12 years. We also provide preschool education for 3-5 years old. Interns will work closely with a lead teacher for each age group as well as the Director and Assistant Director. Training opportunities will behavioral management, problem solving, and child safety. These training workships occur monthly for a minimum of one hour. Additional on-the-job training will be provided. Our goals for our interns include providing opportunities to work with all ages of children with different abilities. Work through opportunities to solve problems and redirect challenging behaviors in a positive way. Allow input for the intern's ideas to implement in the classroom. Allow teaching opportunities for interns. Responsibilities Provide supervision to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age in a daycare setting. Follow up daily schedule. Engage children during learning times. Provide basic needs for children's care throughout the day. Document schedule, activities, snacks/lunch, naps, diaper changes (if applicable) in ProCare. Communicate with parents when dropping off and pick up their children. Qualifications Essential ability to establish rapport and address the developmental needs of children aged 2-5. Proficiency in effectively communicating with children, parents, and coworkers Current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention training, Safety & Risk Management training, New Employee Orientation, and any other required training must be obtained after you are hired and begin active employment. Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality concerning personal information related to children, families, and staff.
