Position Description
POSITION TITLE
Migrant Paraprofessional FLSA:
Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of the Paraprofessional Praxis exam 60 hours of verified college credit or AA Degree or Has a valid Arkansas Teacher's License
REPORTS TO
Principal and/or other Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
185 Day contract.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide tutoring to migrant students under the direction of a certified teacher. Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner. Provide support services to migrant students such as but not limited to, monitoring students grades, coordinating with teachers and counselors on strategies to promote student progress, parent contact, and connecting migrant families with community resources. Maintain and submit all migrant required documentation, migrant student file, schedule, and reports. Assist in the recruitment of migrant students. Attend all Migrant Education Programs and district required professional development. Effectively implement district initiatives.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. Serve on committees as assigned. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
