What You'll Do As a Teacher Assistant, you will: Assist the classroom teacher with daily lessons, activities, and routines. Create positive and engaging experiences for children. Help children develop cognitive, social-emotional, communication, and motor skills. Provide individualized encouragement and support based on each child's needs. Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom. Actively supervise children throughout the day. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, and families. Celebrate children's milestones and help prepare them for greater independence and success. Qualifications Education and Certification High school diploma or equivalent required. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred. Experience At least one year of successful classroom experience working with children, particularly children with developmental delays or disabilities, is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Skills and Abilities A genuine passion for working with children and families. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, coworkers, and leadership. Ability to work with children from birth through age 18, including children and families who may be at risk. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy, team-oriented environment. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet-based programs. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills. Basic written communication and math skills.
