Assistant Montessori Teacher & Art Educator Fayetteville Nature School — Fayetteville, AR Position Summary The Assistant Montessori Teacher & Art Educator supports the learning environment by maintaining the prepared classroom, assisting with instruction and classroom routines, and developing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate art experiences. This position serves as a vital support to the Lead Teacher in both instructional and logistical roles and spends approximately 30% of their time leading art-based learning across the school. The role requires a passion for working with children, flexibility, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous growth. What You'll Do Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a prepared, orderly Montessori classroom environment Support daily instruction, transitions, and classroom routines Design and lead age-appropriate art experiences integrated with the school's nature-based curriculum (~30% of role) Build a sequential art curriculum that grows in skill and complexity across the year Observe and document student progress in both classroom support and art instruction Collaborate with Lead Teachers and school leadership on curriculum planning and student needs Help maintain outdoor and indoor learning spaces, including art materials and supplies What We're Looking For Genuine passion for working with young children in a nature-based, Montessori-informed setting Background or strong interest in art education (formal training a plus, not required) Flexibility and a collaborative, team-first mindset Comfort assisting rather than leading a classroom, while still owning a specialized instructional area Willingness to grow professionally, including openness to Montessori assistant training/credentialing Experience with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred Compensation & Details Salary range: $27,000-$35,000/year, commensurate with experience and credentials Full-time, on-site at our Fayetteville campus on the Razorback Greenway [
