A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Position Summary:
Texarkana Montessori School is seeking a reliable and nurturing Teacher Aide/Assistant to support our classroom teachers and help maintain a calm, structured Montessori learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values consistency and organization, and wants to contribute to a respectful, child-centered classroom community. The Teacher Aide works closely with the Head of School and Lead Guides to support daily classroom routines and help children grow in independence and confidence. Key Responsibilities Support Lead Guides in maintaining daily classroom routines and schedules Assist children during transitions and help them manage time within the classroom work cycle Help maintain an orderly and prepared Montessori environment Assist with snack preparation, snack inventory, and classroom materials Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor time Support children in developing independence and appropriate classroom behaviors Be comfortable assisting young children with toileting and personal care needs when necessary Assist with preparing materials such as curriculum boxes, classroom activities and supplies Follow school policies and maintain a professional, respectful attitude with staff and families What We're Looking For We are seeking someone who is: Patient and respectful with young children Dependable and punctual Comfortable working as part of a team Able to maintain structure and follow established classroom routines and flow Organized and attentive to details Passionate about supporting staff and students have successful experiences Comfortable assisting children with toileting and personal care needs Preferred Qualifications High school diploma required Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, church nursery, or similar setting preferred ServSafe certification for kitchen contributions Montessori experience or interest in Montessori education is a plus About Our School Texarkana Montessori School is a nonprofit early childhood program serving children in a respectful, child-centered environment based on Montessori principles.
