Ozark Opportunities, Inc. is seeking motivated professionals that are passionate about early childhood education. We are urgently hiring one candidate. The Head Start Teacher Assistant role is responsible for assisting the Head Start Teacher to implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children. As well as promoting the involvement of the families of children in the assigned program and center. This position would start in August at the beginning of the 26-27 school year. This position is 10 months in a year, furloughed during Spring Break week, summer break, Thanksgiving break, and Christmas break. Furloughed employees are able and encouraged to draw unemployment during these times Within the first year of employment, you will be required to obtain CDA and CPR credentials, this is training that Ozark Opportunities, Inc. provides for employees. Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist the Teacher in carrying out the daily lesson plan and appropriate center activities. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and healthy classroom environment that meets health and safety regulations and supports children's sense of security away from home. Work closely with the Teacher to ensure developmental tasks are completed per ECLKC and OHS requirements. Work closely with Family Support Workers to ensure family needs are met. Work closely with Health & Nutrition Coordinator to ensure children are screened, needs identified and met, if applicable. Work closely with Nutrition Specialties to ensure healthy practices. Assists with the recruitment of volunteers and future clients for service. Attend family meetings as needed. Work with Coordinators to ensure In-Kind requirements are met. Mandated reporter of suspected cases of Child Abuse and Neglect. We expect qualified candidates to have experience in a teaching environment or with low-income families. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as basic knowledge of computer operation and software. They must have an active and unhindered Driver's License with personal reliable transportation, a high school diploma or equivalent. Successfully pass Criminal Background including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Frequent lifting (able to lift up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping movements within the classroom. Agility to move around classroom furniture and materials. Occasional driving to trainings.
