Job Description

Job Summary Rancho Solano is seeking to add Kindergarten Assistants for the 2026-2027 school year. The Kindergarten Educational Assistant supports the lead Kindergarten teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes students' academic, social, and emotional growth. This role also provides classroom coverage and substitute support for PreK through 3rd Grade classrooms as needed. The Educational Assistant is expected to demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting the mission and culture of the school community. Responsibilities Supports the lead teacher during whole-group, small-group, one-on-one, and center-based instruction Assists students with classroom routines, transitions, and organization Assists in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning centers Reinforces classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies Supports students' social-emotional development through positive interactions and redirection Supervises students independently while ensuring safety, engagement, and appropriate classroom behavior Ensures sanitation of all surfaces, equipment, and materials Assists with daily school operations, including occasional front office support, lunchroom supervision, field trips, school events, and drop off/pick up Provides supervision and support for after-school care programs Provides substitute classroom coverage for PreK-3rd Grade teachers as assigned, including independently supervising students, implementing lesson plans, and maintaining classroom routines and expectations during teacher absences Demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude toward supporting students, teachers, and school operations Maintains positive and professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues Maintains confidentiality regarding students, families, and school operations Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by school administration Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher Experience working with school-aged children Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate instructional strategies At least 6 months of experience in a school or licensed childcare setting Working knowledge of basic skills for phonics/math acquisition Must obtain and maintain all required clearances, certifications, and training in accordance with school and state regulations
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
