QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Diploma. Associate degree OR obtained a passing score on one of the ADE approved assessments. Current First Aid and CPR card.
REPORTS TO
Special Education Teacher
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
9 months
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides remedial instruction to reinforce teacher's instruction on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to facilitate growth towards the student's IEP goals and objectives. Supervises the students in activity centers. Assists with monitoring and charting the student's progress towards achievement of IEP goals and objectives. Assist students with toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility, and hygiene needs. Participates in scheduled meetings, screenings, and progress report meetings and provides input in the development of appropriate ongoing resource placements and services. Participates in in-service training programs set up by the school district as deemed necessary and appropriate to upgrade training and skills. Assist students in completing class assignments. Fulfills bus duties including riding and supervision on buses (when necessary) and during bus loading and unloading. Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Fulfill other duties as assigned.
EVALUATION
Performance of this special education aide will be evaluated twice each school year in accordance with provisions of Board policies.
