Job Description

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide II to support K-12 students with autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, and other special needs. Working in small, specialized classrooms, you will implement teacher-directed lessons, provide 1:1 and small-group academic and behavioral support, and help maintain a structured, therapeutic learning environment. You will collect student data, assist with behavior intervention plans, supervise transitions, and collaborate closely with teachers, clinicians, and families to promote student progress, independence, and success in school and the community. Responsibilities Support delivery of teacher-planned academic instruction for K-12 students with special needs Provide 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral support Implement behavior intervention strategies and reinforcement systems as directed Collect and record student academic, behavioral, and attendance data Assist with adapting materials and organizing classroom activities Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and community-based activities Help maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic classroom environment Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and related service providers Communicate appropriately with students, staff, and families about student needs Support IEP implementation under teacher and clinical guidance Required Skills Classroom support for students with special needs Applied behavior strategies and de-escalation techniques Data collection and documentation Implementing behavior intervention plans Special education instructional support Small-group and 1:1 instruction Crisis prevention and safety practices Basic academic tutoring (K-12) Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Student supervision and classroom management
