This position involves working closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. Duties Provide support to students in various subjects, including literacy education and math. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior in the classroom. Support classroom management by maintaining a structured and organized learning environment. Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to meet the needs of individual students. Foster social skills development through group activities and peer interactions. Maintain accurate records of student progress and assist in reporting outcomes. Skills Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, behaviors or disabilities. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with educators. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Familiarity with IEP's. Ability to manage classroom dynamics and implement behavior management techniques effectively. Experience working directly with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities, and extreme behaviors is highly desirable.
