Bay Point, California Hourly Pay:

$19.00-$24.00 per hour for candidates without ECE units. $20.00-$25.00 per hour for candidates with 12 or more ECE units. Position Overview The YWCA is seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated Classroom Aide to support our early childhood education program. The Classroom Aide works alongside teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 2-5. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, understands the importance of health and safety, and is willing to assist with classroom activities, meal preparation, daily routines, and maintaining a clean learning environment. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers with implementing weekly lesson plans and developmentally appropriate classroom activities. Support children's learning through music, art, storytelling, science, dramatic play, and small-group activities. Complete three daily observations of children as required by the program. Supervise children indoors and outdoors while ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist children with meals, handwashing, toothbrushing, diapering, and bathroom routines. Provide emotional support and comfort children when they are upset or need assistance. Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks while following food safety and sanitation procedures. Set up and sanitize tables, prepare nap areas, and clean cots after use. Maintain clean and organized classrooms, restrooms, learning centers, and outdoor play areas. Follow California licensing requirements, applicable safety standards, and all YWCA policies and procedures. Attend required trainings and follow directions from the Site Supervisor and classroom teachers. Qualifications Experience working with young children, preferably ages 2-5. Ability to meet children's physical, social-emotional, and developmental needs. Willingness to assist with food preparation, cleaning, and classroom maintenance. Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Reliable transportation and flexibility to accommodate occasional schedule changes. Willingness to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, health screenings, and other employment clearances. Ability to participate in required training and meet the physical demands of the position. Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on ECE coursework and experience.
