The ideal candidate will bring warmth, creativity, and a deep respect for childhood, while embracing the joys and challenges of working in an all-weather, outdoor learning environment. This part time position is 25 hours per week: 8:30a-1:30p, Monday through Friday Responsibilities Lead or co-lead a mixed-age outdoor preschool group ( ages 2.5-6) Create and maintain a predictable daily rhythm of seasonal songs, stories, and hands-on activities (nature crafts, gardening) Model reverence for nature and the environment through example and daily practice Observe and support each child's individual development in alignment with Waldorf developmental principles Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment in all weather conditions Communicate effectively with parents Contribute to seasonal festivals
Qualifications Required:
Genuine love and respect for young children and their developmental journey Interest in Waldorf education and nature-based learning (formal training not required, but a willingness to learn is essential) Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, year-round Ability to follow and support the Lead Teacher's rhythm, direction, and classroom management style Strong observational skills and a calm, grounded presence Physical ability to be active throughout the day (walking, sitting on the ground, carrying supplies, lifting children if needed) Strong teamwork and communication skills Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred:
Prior experience working with young children (formally or informally) Comfort with simple songs, storytelling, or handwork (or interest in learning) Ability to assist with transitions, and help maintain a clean and organized environment
