Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract If you have a passion for supporting students and thrive in dynamic educational settings, consider an impactful contract assignment as a paraprofessional serving school communities near Berkeley, CA. Opportunities are available for summer ESY programs, with assignments ranging from Pre-K through High School and specialized county programs. Candidates must be flexible and ready to assist wherever needed, including providing hands-on care such as toileting, feeding (including g-tube), and other personal support tasks. Success in this environment requires compassion, teamwork, and a willingness to adapt to various responsibilities. Paraprofessionals are matched with school sites based on need, not personal preference, so openness to all settings is a must. Desired Qualifications (Minimum requirement for all positions): Associate's Degree or higher, OR 48 semester college units and a high school diploma, OR high school diploma plus CBEST or Instructional Aide Exam. Special consideration for candidates with additional certifications: CPR/First Aid, anti-seizure medication, instructional modules for physical health care, sign language fluency, vision-impaired/Braille training, or CA Vocational Nurse License. Experience supporting students with behavioral, medical, or special needs preferred. Ability and willingness to perform all assigned duties, including personal care tasks. Dependable, team-oriented, and receptive to diverse learning environments.
Contract Details:
Positions are available for Extended School Year (ESY) sessions. Schedules vary by site and grade level, typically Monday to Friday mornings or early afternoons (some programs run through mid-July). All applicants must submit proof of relevant qualifications, any additional licenses or certificates, and a manager's reference for review and approval before proceeding. Candidates unwilling to fulfill all aspects of the role as assigned will not be considered.
