Job Description

Massage Therapist & Physical Therapy Aide Instructor California Healing Arts College | Carson, CA $25.00-$41.00 per hour | Part-Time, Evenings Pass on the craft. Build the next generation of CAMTC-certified therapists. California Healing Arts College (CHAC) has been training massage and bodywork professionals since 1988. We were the first school in Los Angeles to offer a practical Clinical Studies Program for spas, chiropractic clinics, and physician offices. Today, we're looking for an experienced, CAMTC-certified massage therapist to join our faculty and teach in our 36-week Massage Therapist & Physical Therapy Aide program. About the role You'll teach in our fully residential MT&PTA program: 800 hours of in-person classroom and lab instruction that prepares students for CAMTC certification and entry-level work in spas, chiropractic offices, sports medicine clinics, rehabilitation centers, and physical therapy practices. Across the program's nine modules, you'll cover:
Fundamentals of Therapeutic Massage:
Swedish theory, technique, draping, and client positioning
Anatomy & Physiology:
body systems, common pathologies, and hands-on palpation through the Trail Guide to the Body Medical Terminology for massage therapists
Patient Management:
intake, documentation, EHR basics, business and customer service
Therapeutic Modalities:
hot stone, Shiatsu, Thai, reflexology, acupressure, aromatherapy, prenatal, infant/child, oncology, and animal massage Massage in
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation:
interplay between massage and
PT Sports Massage Therapy:
pre/post/inter-event, deep tissue, and chair techniques
Externship:
guiding students through their two clinical externship modules Lab classes are capped at 25 students per instructor, so you'll have room to give real, hands-on feedback.
Schedule Part-Time, Evening:
Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 11:00
PM:
classroom and lab instruction Friday, 6:00 PM to 11:00

every other week What you'll do Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that meets CAMTC's curriculum standards for school-approved programs Demonstrate techniques live and coach students through palpation, draping, and bodywork in lab Develop lesson plans and adapt delivery through lecture, demonstration, video, and supervised practice Prepare, administer, and grade written exams and practical skills assessments Track attendance closely. Students must complete 100% of program hours to qualify for CAMTC certification Model the professionalism, ethics, and client-centered care expected in the field Support students through CHAC's draping policy and our standards for safe, respectful clinical learning environments Collaborate with the Program Director on materials, externship readiness, and student progress What we're looking for
Required:
Active CAMTC certification (Certified Massage Therapist or Certified Massage Practitioner) in good standing Minimum 3 years of full-time hands-on massage therapy experience Associates Degree Strong communication skills and the ability to teach diverse adult learners Willingness to clear a background check (standard for MT&PTA program faculty)
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience, especially at a career or vocational college Bachelor's or Master's degree Experience across multiple modalities (Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, Shiatsu, reflexology, etc.) Background in physical therapy, chiropractic, or rehabilitation settings Bilingual English/Spanish Why CHAC Established program with a strong CAMTC-approved curriculum (
