JOB DESCRIPTION
This employee is supporting implementation of education plans for all students including Special Education and English Learners, supervising children's active play indoors and outdoors, reading to children, preparing craft activities and other activities using fine/small motor and visual perception skills. The assignment may include one-to-one student support. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Assists in planning and implementing daily programs. Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment and in preparing needed materials and supplies. Helps with general housekeeping tasks, including the serving of snacks. Maintains professional attitude and demeanor with students, parents and faculty. Responds to all children with dignity and respect. Attends staff meetings and attends recommended training programs. Oversees and supervises children in small groups. Maintains student records, attendance and files. Supports a learning environment that promotes fairness and respect. Supports the creation of a safe environment which promotes group responsibility. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
General concepts of child development, early childhood growth and development and child behavior characteristics. Techniques used in supervising and motivating young children. Command of the English language and proficient writing skills including proper use of punctuation, spelling and grammar. Routine record keeping. Adherence to personnel policies of the Blue Oak School. Waldorf method and practice. Specific subject area content as required in job assignment.

Qualifications Required Materials:
High School Diploma or GED Two years of college coursework, totaling 48 units, can fulfill the educational requirement or Proof of 3 or more years of childcare experience in a licensed school setting Resume/Cover Letter 3 current letters of reference
