The Claremont United Church of Christ Early Childhood Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working collaboratively, and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive. Must have completed at least 12 CDE units. After completing a 90-day introductory period, this position is eligible for vacation & sick pay, health insurance, and pension.

Duties:

Foster warm, responsive relationships with children and families. Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, and outdoor play. Maintain active supervision of children at all times. Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students by implementing educational programs and activities tailored to each assigned class. Work collaboratively with teaching teams and administration. Help create a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment. Follow all Community Care Licensing regulations and center policies. Ensures that the teacher-to-student ratio is met at all times. Encourages development of student self-control by utilizing classroom management and modeling techniques. Keeps parents informed through daily communication. Ensures continuous care of children by assuming teaching responsibilities when the teacher is absent. Keeps abreast in the field of Child Development by participating in educational opportunities, trainings, and reading professional publications.
