Our one-school campus serves students in grades TK-8 with about two classes per grade level. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of general education students; assist in the implementation of instructional materials; assist in providing behavioral support, assist with individual assignments and provide routine clerical support. To perform a variety of related duties in the maintenance of a safe and positive learning environment (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) both inside and outside of the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist students in completing classroom assignments, classroom projects in various subject areas; insure student understanding of classroom rules and procedures; assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude and general guidance; prompt students to help students arrive at a correct concept of answer; confer and collaborate with the teacher(s) concerning lesson plans and materials to meet student needs. Assist certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment; monitor and oversee assignment in various subjects. Explain and assure student understanding of classroom assignment and homework instructions; explain words and concepts as necessary; report progress regarding student performance and behavior to the supervising teacher. Organizes learning and/or instructional environment; sets up materials and equipment for daily activities, gathers appropriate resource information, and maintains neat and orderly classroom/instructional areas. Observe, monitor and support behavior of students in the classroom according to approved procedures; monitor and interact with students during outdoor, physical education and other recreational activities as directed.
