Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a highly rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an educational setting as a paraprofessional near Compton, CA. Collaborate with teachers and staff to help create a nurturing environment, making a tangible difference during an Extended School Year (ESY) program. In this paraprofessional role, you'll provide essential support to students with diverse learning needs. Working alongside experienced educators, you'll contribute to individualized attention and assist with daily activities—enhancing student engagement, growth, and development. Your ability to foster positive relationships will play a key role in this impactful position.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team Flexibility, patience, and a compassionate attitude toward students of all abilities Understanding of classroom management and instructional techniques High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students under teacher supervision, both in groups and one-on-one Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and behavior management Support students' academic, social, and emotional development Help implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all learners This contract role offers the chance to gain valuable experience working in education, specifically in programs like ESY with professionals such as Lakita Taylor - ESY BA.
