Teacher's Assistant New Era Chinese Academy Diamond Bar, CA Job Details Part-time $17 - $19 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Mandarin Childcare English Experience working with children Chinese Full Job Description After School Teacher Assistant The New Era Chinese Academy (NECA) After School Program seeks qualified teacher assistants to join its team for the 2026-27 school year. NECA operates an After School Program for Pantera Elementary School located in Diamond Bar, CA. Our program has six classes for kindergarten through 6th grade and 100+ students. Pantera is a Chinese Immersion School where the students will have Chinese lessons as part of their curriculum. The After School Teacher Assistant will provide homework assistance and sometimes fun learning activities for students in the After School Program. Also, the candidate will ensure the safety and well-being of children in the program. It is preferred that the Teacher Assistant candidate can speak Mandarin Chinese. They should possess interpersonal and communication skills that allow them to interact positively with both adults and children.
Additional skills include the following:
- Ability to: Supervise and direct children, be sensitive and mature. Serve as a good role model. Establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents and students. Effectively use positive guidance techniques to correct student behavior. Maintain confidentiality.
- Conduct daily after school activities with elementary students
- Tutor students and provide homework assistance (Math and English)
- Supervise children on the playground and classrooms
- Treat children with dignity and respect while helping to build self-esteem and confidence through one-on-one interaction
- Be responsible for the safety of the children enrolled
- Assist in the orderly arrangement, appearance, and cleanliness of the classroom Monday - Friday 2:30-6p (can be part time) We are open every day that Pantera Elementary School is open with normal classes.
