Duties Support classroom management and behavior management strategies tailored to students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders. Assist in implementing curriculum plans focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional skills, ensuring alignment with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards. Provide physical assistance and support for students with mobility challenges or other special needs during daily activities. Use American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, promoting inclusive interactions. Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop and execute individualized support strategies. Support classroom activities by preparing materials, managing classroom routines, and maintaining a safe environment for children of various developmental stages including toddlers and preschoolers. Handle confidential information responsibly while documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records related to IEP goals and behavioral interventions. Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood education or special education settings is highly preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or behavioral challenges is advantageous. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, basic math skills, and childcare practices.
