Job Description

Job Summary The Substitute Aide provides temporary support to schools and classrooms on an as-needed basis. The position fills in for regular instructional, classroom, student support, or other school aides during absences, vacancies, or other staffing needs. The Substitute Aide assists teachers and school staff in creating a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment for students. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, administrator, or designated staff member, the Substitute Aide assists with daily classroom activities, student supervision, instructional support, and other duties appropriate to the assigned position and school site.
Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of successful experience involving contact with children in an instructional capacity in a school preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree or 48 units or Certification of Passage of the Instructional Aide Assessment Exam.

Exeter's population is about 10,350 and our city leaders are determined to retain our small town charm while making room for conservative growth.
