Behavior Support Teacher for Moderate to Severe Autism

Job Overview Armenta Learning Academy is seeking a patient and reliable Behavior Support Teacher to work directly with moderate to severe autistic students in a small, one on one or very small group setting. The main focus of this role is behavior support, emotional regulation, and helping students stay engaged and comfortable while learning. We do not operate like a large district program. Our environment is calm, flexible, and individualized. The ideal candidate has experience with ABA, behavior intervention, or supporting students with higher needs. You must be confident managing behaviors and creating a safe space where students can succeed. Responsibilities Provide one on one or small group support for students with moderate to severe autism Use ABA or behavior support strategies to manage behaviors and keep students regulated Help students with communication, routines, transitions, and daily learning activities Follow simple individualized plans created by the director Keep students safe, calm, and engaged Document basic notes on behavior and progress Communicate with the director about student needs or changes Maintain a patient, positive, structured environment Qualifications Experience working with autistic students, especially moderate to severe Training or background in ABA or behavior support Ability to confidently manage challenging behaviors Reliable, patient, and comfortable adapting to student needs Good communication and teamwork skills Background check required Hours 5 to 15 hours per week Part time, flexible scheduling Pay 25 to 35 per hour depending on experience
