RESPONSIBILITIES
Adelante Program Support Communicating with teachers before and after their field trip, ensuring they have all necessary information, and sending program evaluations; Greeting classes as they arrive, coordinating the start of tours, assisting with timing/logistics during the tours, and wrapping up tours; Implementing and recording pre- and post-visit student evaluations; Ensuring that all program materials are ready for each day of school tours and prepare additional materials as necessary; Undergoing school docent training and developing a costume and character to be able to fill in as needed to lead living history school tour components when volunteers are absent. Additional Departmental Projects Assisting with the development and implementation of house docent training and garden docent training; Supporting the implementation of the Water Matters LB curriculum, including: communication with teachers and schools, developing and leading activities for STEAM days, and program evaluation; Supporting public programs, including Storytime Bilingue, Holiday Open House, Fiesta del Rancho, etc.; Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Background and/or demonstrated interest in K-12 education. Proficient written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Good organizational and time management skills. Flexibility; can adapt to changing community or team needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to interact respectfully with diverse audiences. Creative problem-solving skills; can resolve program issues and problems. Daytime weekday shifts on site will be required on a regular basis; some weekend shifts and/or evening shifts on site may be requested (with advance notice). Bilingual skills are a plus.
