Job Summary Mammoth Unified School District is hiring a Paraprofessional-Special Day Class for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is an opportunity to live and work in the beautiful town of Mammoth Lakes, California—an outdoor destination known for its community, culture, and quality of life. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated paraprofessional aide to support students in our Special Day Class. The ideal candidate will work closely with the teacher to assist with individualized instruction, provide encouragement and care, and help create a positive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities tailored to individual student needs. Support students with disabilities, including those requiring assistance with communication, behavior management, and personal care. Foster a positive learning environment by promoting engagement and participation among all students. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning atmosphere. Help with lesson planning and curriculum development to enhance educational outcomes. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs. Participate in training sessions related to special education, behavior management, and relevant teaching strategies. Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas: Working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism. Classroom experience in special education settings. Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students and families. Background in behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies. A passion for working with children, along with a commitment to supporting their growth and development.
