Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a direct impact on students' educational journeys by supporting an after-school program as a dedicated Paraprofessional. This part-time contract opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience and a rewarding chance to foster a positive, safe, and engaging environment for learners. As a key member of the after-school team, you will help guide and inspire young minds, assisting with academic activities and enhancing students' growth outside of standard classroom hours.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a school setting preferred Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear instruction Patient, compassionate, and understanding, with a genuine interest in working with children Keen sense of responsibility and reliability, especially in group supervision Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a supportive environment Proficiency in managing diverse classroom needs and supporting students' individual learning
Key Responsibilities:
Support students during after-school academic and enrichment activities Assist lead teachers with lesson implementation, classroom management, and behavior guidance Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages respect and participation Monitor student safety and well-being throughout program hours Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and occasionally parents Help facilitate smooth transitions between activities and contribute ideas for program improvement This contract role runs part-time (12.5 hours weekly) from as soon as possible through June 3, 2027, providing flexibility and meaningful work during important after-school hours.
