Job Description
TEMPORARY POSITION
We're looking for a caring, creative, and reliable Summer Program Aide to join our STARS team! In this role, you'll lead fun, engaging activities, support students academically and socially, and help create a safe, inclusive environment where children can thrive after school. About Serenity Serenity's purpose is to develop innovative and revolutionary evidence-based programs to address social-determinants of health for "at-risk" youth, low-income families, and vulnerable adults/seniors.Description Job Duties:
Assist program facilitators and teachers in supervising students during all activities Support the implementation of daily lesson plans, enrichment activities, and games Help prepare and organize materials for educational and recreational activities Monitor student behavior and promote a respectful, inclusive environment Supervise students during indoor and outdoor play, snack time, and transitions Escort students to and from restrooms or designated areas as needed Maintain a safe and clean environment Assist with attendance, sign-in/out sheets, and documentation as directed Provide one-on-one support to students who need additional attention Report incidents, injuries, or unusual behaviors to the Program Facilitator or Lead Teacher Participate in staff meetings and training sessionsMinimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent At least 18 years of age Ability to pass a background check and TB screening Availability during following hours (10:00 AM - 4:00PM, Monday-Friday) Must be dependable and punctual Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with a team Must enjoy working with childrenDesired Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children (in a classroom, camp, church, or recreation setting) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude and ability to manage groups of children Basic understanding of child development or interest in education/youth services Ability to remain calm and patient in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and adapt to program needs Bilingual or multilingual (a plus, but not required) CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required) Must be able to pass Live Scan Background Salary $17 - $22 per hourSimilar remote jobs
