What Youll Bring:

Proficiency in braille transcription and production (literary and, ideally, Nemeth code). Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting. High school diploma or equivalent; further relevant coursework or certifications a plus. Familiarity with assistive technology for visually impaired students. Strong organizational and communication skills. Compassion, patience, and a true dedication to supporting student independence.

Your Impactful Responsibilities:

Transcribe and adapt classroom materials into braille, large print, or tactile formats. Provide one-on-one or small-group academic assistance under the supervision of certified teachers. Assist students in developing effective study and mobility skills. Support the use of technology tools such as braille writers, embossers, and screen readers. Facilitate accessibility during classroom activities, tests, and assessments. Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals by providing observations and feedback.
