Job Description

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide to support K-12 students with autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, and other special needs in small, specialized classrooms. Working under a special education teacher, you will implement individualized education plans, reinforce academic and social-emotional skills, support behavior plans, collect student data, and assist with daily routines. You'll collaborate with teachers and clinicians, communicate with families and staff, and help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that reflects our mission-driven, student-focused culture. Responsibilities Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-12 students with special needs Reinforce academic, social, and behavioral skills in small, specialized classroom settings Assist with behavior intervention plans and use approved de-escalation strategies Collect and document student performance and behavior data Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support under teacher direction Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and instructional materials Support students with daily routines, transitions, and personal care as needed Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and support staff to implement student plans Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment Communicate professionally with staff and, as directed, with families and districts Required Skills Classroom support Behavior management Special education support Data collection and documentation One-on-one and small-group instruction Crisis prevention and de-escalation Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Basic academic tutoring (K-12) Instructional material preparation CPR/First Aid procedures
