OVERVIEW
Under general direction, assist in preparing educational materials; may tutor or assist with instruction of individual students or groups of students under guidelines and supervision provided by the classroom teacher.QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- A.A. degree or equivalent required; courses in Psychology, Child Growth, and Development, or a closely related field preferred;
- Satisfactory work history;
- Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, positive attitude, and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Classroom Teacher in planning the course of study and specific lesson plans;
- May tutor individual students or groups of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher;
- Supervise individual students or small groups of students in practice activities such as math and spelling drills;
- Supervise students at assemblies and programs or during trips;
- Auditory and visual monitoring of students both inside the classroom and during outside activities;
- Assist students in reviewing homework assignments and test results;
- Prepare instructional and visual aids including posters, charts, and stencils;
