Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Teacher's Aide who believes in and supports our Cooking with Kids Foundation's mission: to change the lives of children by reducing their risk of childhood obesity and diabetes by teaching the valuable life skill of cooking healthy.
Locations:
Kitchens in Pleasanton Community Center, CA. 94566 Veterans Bldg, Lafayette Park & Rec., 500 St Mary's Rd, Lafayette, CA. 94549, Orinda Park & Rec, 28 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA. 94563 Seven Hills School (Private), 925 N. San Carlos Dr., Walnut Creek, CA. 94598 Duties Supporting the teacher, they will teach children proper knife safety, how to set up their own workstations, working at the stove with the students. Will assist in doing the classroom worksheets that correspond with the day's recipe made in class and the corresponding coloring sheets. Will teach the students how to wash dishes in hot soapy water, rinse completely, and dry properly,: eat and critique the dishes they made in class that day; and use the food pyramid to locate all the ingredients used in the recipes made that day in class.

We are looking for an Aide that has a passion for working with children, cares about children's nutrituion likes enjoys cooking This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early childhood health education in an after-school setting. The teacher's aide assists in the classroom setup and tear down. Will provide instruction in the proper way to work with knives and cutting boards, and assist children in setting up their own workstations Assists the Teacher to maintain a positive learning environment. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Live in Contra Costa County Have live scans from all locations we teach in. Have a current TB Certificate and a current certificate from MandateReporterTraining.com Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as elementary schools, preschools, or childcare centers is highly preferred. From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 2.0 per week
