D/HH Program Paraeducator (Infant & Itinerant), Special Education, PC #603 at Monterey County Office Of Education Print Application Deadline 5/29/2026 5:00 PM Pacific Date Posted 5/15/2026 Contact Amanda Fullmer Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $23.68 /Hr - $30.63 /Hr Per Hour Add'l Salary Info $23.68 - $30.63 /Hr Length of Work Year M-F; 7.0 Hrs/Day; 200 Days/Yr Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education or Designee, the D/HH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program) Paraeducator is responsible for assisting teachers and therapists by serving the needs of deaf and hard of hearing children, birth to age 22 implements developmental activities with children and works with families during home visits, center-based visits, individual, group and class settings; monitors hearing aids and cochlear implants, sets up and monitors personal and classroom amplification systems; performs a variety of basic clerical and general office duties; assists in the routine administrative activities of a school/program office. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015: High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR possession of an Associate's or higher degree OR able to meet a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge or and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics Any combination of post-secondary education, experience, training and/or technical experience working with individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing, which has provided the applicant with the required knowledge and abilities to successfully perform job duties
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver's License, and evidence of insurability Passing score on the MCOE Spanish Language Competency Test level First Aid and CPR certification, appropriate for the assigned age group, within six (6) months of employment Copy of Transcript Letter of Introduction Proof of HS Graduation Resume Requirements / Qualifications Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015: High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR possession of an Associate's or higher degree OR able to meet a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge or and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics Any combination of post-secondary education, experience, training and/or technical experience working with individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing, which has provided the applicant with the required knowledge and abilities to successfully perform job dutiesLicenses and Certifications:
