Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Program Director or Coordinator as assigned and under the direction of certificated staff, the Preschool Instructional Associate performs various supportive tasks designed to facilitate instructional effectiveness of student learning in a preschool classroom.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification required (No online courses accepted).
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Child Development Associate Permit from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing;
  • Fifty Days of Experience at three plus hours per day within two years, as verified by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) (this must be completed to be considered for a Child Development Associate Permit) AND
  • Education as required by the "Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015":
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48-semester units); OR
  • Possession of an Associate's or higher degree; OR
  • Meet a rigorous quality standard and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.
