Special Assistant (Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer) City of San Bruno - 3.5 San Bruno, CA Job Details Part-time $25 - $40 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Customer communication High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Full Job Description Part-Time - Multiple Positions Available (10 to 20 Hours per Week) The City of San Bruno Recreation and Aquatic Center is hiring for Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers , with a particular focus on strength and conditioning . We are especially seeking instructors available in the evenings , with additional weekday and weekend shifts also available. Position Summary Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers play a key role in supporting clients' health and fitness goals by: Leading group strength and conditioning classes and personal training sessions. Designing safe and effective individualized fitness programs. Monitoring client progress, ensuring proper form, and providing feedback. Creating a motivating, positive environment for participants. Delivering excellent customer service and addressing fitness-related inquiries. Ensuring the fitness facility is safe, clean, and fully operational. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Current certification in personal training or group fitness instruction (e.g., ACE, NASM, or other recognized certification). At least one year of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, or related field preferred. Experience in strength and conditioning, group instruction, and one-on-one training is highly desirable. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques, fitness principles, and wellness practices. Ability to motivate and instruct individuals and groups effectively. Strong communication skills for clear instruction and positive feedback. Skill in assessing client needs and designing individualized programs. Ability to safely operate and maintain fitness equipment.
