Program Aide - Adult Day Health Center - 30 Hours a Week

Qualifications A program aide is:

1. 18 years of age or older. 2. A high school graduate. 3. Willing to and capable of performing the tasks assigned to them by their immediate supervisor(s) and/or the center Program Director. 4. Able to demonstrate competence in helping others by producing a work history and/or references, which can verify this competence. 5. Qualified by education, training and/or experience to meet the needs of the program and perform the duties assigned. 6. Able to demonstrate to the Program Director the ability to successfully perform the task assigned. 7. Physically capable both of performing the required duties and of assisting frail elderly and disabled adults, as necessary. 8. The program aide will provide the center with a health examination, signed by a physician, and a TB clearance, which is not more than 12 months prior to employment or within 7 days of employment and shall provide the center a current certificate of CPR and First Aid training. B. Duties The duties of a program aide include performing basic program services/assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Program Director or members of the multidisciplinary team. These services/tasks include but are not limited to: 1. Support of and assistance with group activity and recreational programs. 2. Assistance with the provision of personal care services to participants, under the supervision of the center RN. 3. Assistance with physical and/or occupational therapy maintenance therapy services when trained by the physical and/or occupational therapist, and documenting all services provided on the same day these services are provided. 4. Arranging for appointments for participants outside the center. 5. Transporting participants from their homes to the Center and back or assisting other transportation providers in helping participants get to and from the vans. 6. Preparing the meals delivered by the food service company for distribution and serving the meals to the participants. 7. The program aide(s) will perform other duties as required by the administrator, Program Director and/or their immediate supervisor.
