About the School BOOST of Cypress School is a small non-public school located in San Rafael. BOOST serves children and young adults with Orthopedic Impairments like Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities TK- 22. Our classroom teachers work with a team of specialists to provide individualized and systematic academic programs that support each student's unique mobility and academic needs. From occupational, physical, and speech therapy, to behavioral needs and life skill building, our unique team of educators work to create the learning environment that best suits each student in a fun and engaging way.

Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm (this is not your work schedule. This is the window schedules are available based on your availability and needs of the school)

Job Overview:

Are you passionate about working with students with disabilities? If so, we have the role for you! Join our dedicated team as a Teacher Aide, where you will play a vital role in enabling our children to access and thrive in our curriculum. You will assist the Teacher in providing a nurturing and stimulating educational environment for young learners. This hands-on position involves working closely with children, assisting with personal care, and engaging in various activities that support their development. Ideally, as a Teacher Aide, you will also pick up and drop off students before and after school in the Santa Rosa area.

Key Responsibilities:

Support classroom, community, and student programs while following schedules, routines, transitions, therapy plans, and individualized student needs. Implement prompting, teaching, and positive behavior support strategies to promote engagement, independence, and successful participation. Follow individualized student plans, including Behavior Intervention Plans, safety procedures, seizure protocols, and emergency procedures. Identify behavioral triggers and proactively implement strategies to prevent or reduce challenging behaviors. Respond to behavioral emergencies using approved de-escalation and crisis-response techniques. Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and diapering, as required. Accurately collect and document student data, behavioral incidents, and required reports. Communicate and collaborate with teachers, behaviorists, therapists, administrators, and other school team members to support student needs and program goals. Pick up students, drive them to our school in San Rafael, and return them home daily.

Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma, GED or certificate of completion; Associate degree preferred. Experience working with children in an educational setting. Valid California Driver's license with a clear driving record Cleared fingerprint/background test required Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test required Negative TB test and medical examination required First Aid certified or willing to become certified required Valid California Driver's license with a clear driving record Preference for applicants with previous experience working with students with autism or similar disabilities
