Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy, math, and curriculum development, including Montessori and preschool activities. Support students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders, by providing physical assistance, behavior management strategies, and classroom support aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Use communication skills such as American Sign Language and verbal cues to facilitate effective interaction with students with diverse communication needs. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and adapt instructional materials that meet each student's unique needs. Support early childhood development by engaging children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, literacy education, basic math skills, and overall childhood development. Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable. Experience supporting students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, is preferred. Knowledge of special education practices such as behavior management for students with behavioral disorders and familiarity with IEP processes is advantageous. Background in early childhood education or preschool environments, including Montessori or toddler care experience, will be beneficial. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for collaborating effectively with staff, parents, and other professionals. Demonstrated classroom management skills in diverse learning environments are required to ensure a supportive atmosphere for all students. Ability to handle physical assistance needs for students requiring additional support within a classroom setting is necessary.
