Paraprofessional I Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment; tutor individual or small groups of student; assist in the preparation of instructional materials; provide routine clerical support.Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED and some experience working with children in a learning or organized setting. Incumbents must meet requirements specified under every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In addition, must meet on of the following: Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 units); Obtained an associate's or higher degree (college level); OR Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics. Details for this vacancy are as follows: Buri Buri Elementary School 6 hrs/day; Work schedule is TBA Monday - Friday This assignment is for Transitional Kindergarten. This recruitment is being conducted to fill the vacancy at the school site identified in this posting. Candidates who successfully pass application screening will participate in the following competitive recruitment testing phases, as applicable based on minimum qualification status:Written Examination:
Candidates who do not meet the educational minimum qualifications will be required to complete a paraprofessional equivalency examination. This multiple choice examination is administered on a continuous basis, typically once per month. Panel Interview (Required): All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications, or who successfully pass the paraprofessional examination, will be required to participate in a panel interview. Panel interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, typically twice per month. Qualified candidates will be notified of specific testing and panel interview dates.Please note:
