A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
Joyful Junction strongly values the importance of play-based programs. They provide a wide range of active and meaningful experiences. Planning by Joyful teachers and staff is purposeful, building upon children's strengths and focusing on individual child's interests, focusing on the best in early child development. The learning that occurs can be informal, gained as children talk, explore and try out different ways of doing things or it can be intentionally planned for. Intentional teaching is when educators actively promote children's learning through worthwhile and challenging experiences and interactions that foster high-level thinking. Joyful takes a holistic approach to early childhood education, prioritizing trust-based relationships with caregivers as well as a wide-range of activities that promote academic, emotional, physical and social development. Children are placed in age-appropriate activities. The curriculum is comprehensive, research-based and approved for ages infant through preschool. It includes ongoing assessments and documentation for children's progress, giving parents feedback about their child's progress. Joyful believes that all activities, especially play, facilitate some form of learning or developments, and we view every part of the children's day as an opportunity to teach them about their world. Teachers support children's learning by:
