Part-Time Instructional Aide & After-School Care Staff The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles (LA Catholics) - 3.5 Torrance, CA Job Details Part-time 1 hour ago Qualifications General academic student support Student supervision Classroom active supervision Behavioral standards enforcement in schools Faculty collaboration High school diploma or GED Working with students Student safety monitoring Full Job Description Nativity Catholic School in Torrance is seeking a dependable, caring, and flexible Part-Time Instructional Aide & After-School Care Staff Member to support students during the second half of the school day and/or in our after-school care program. During the school day, this position may serve as a floating instructional aide, providing classroom support where needed, assisting teachers and students, helping with transitions, and supervising students during recess, lunch, and yard duty. After school, the position may assist with supervision of students in the after-school care program, including homework time, structured activities, recreation, snack time, and dismissal to authorized adults. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is flexible in responding to the needs of the school, and is able to provide students with a safe, caring, structured, and positive environment. This position works collaboratively with teachers, office staff, after-school personnel, and administration and supports the mission and values of Catholic education. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred. Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children preferred. Ability to supervise groups of students in classroom, playground, lunch, and after-school settings. Ability to assist teachers with classroom activities, student support, preparation of materials, and other instructional needs as assigned. Strong communication, organization, reliability, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain appropriate student behavior and provide clear, consistent, and caring supervision. Flexibility to work in different classrooms, grade levels, and school settings based on daily needs. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, families, and administration. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Successful completion of Archdiocese of Los Angeles fingerprinting, VIRTUS training, and Safe Environment requirements prior to employment. Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
