Qualifications:

Associate's degree (AA) or higher from an accredited college or university, OR 48+ college semester units from an accredited institution Successful completion of a county-wide instructional assistant examination, as required under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) standards Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged children, especially students with extensive support needs (ESN) Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability

Responsibilities:

Support elementary-aged students within a Special Day Class (SDC) ESN setting, following guidance from lead teachers and specialists Assist with classroom management, activities, and daily routines, helping students achieve academic and social goals Implement individualized education plan accommodations and behavior supports as directed Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment Collaborate regularly with educational teams to ensure student needs are met and progress is tracked This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of education while making a lasting difference in students' lives.
