The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a joyful, engaging, and developmentally rich classroom environment. This individual will work closely with children, families, and colleagues to uphold the school's mission and philosophy while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning community.

Three-Year-Old Classroom Schedule:
Short Term Full-time:
September through approximately January Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Education Key Responsibilities Classroom Support Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to implement play-based, developmentally appropriate activities that foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Assist with classroom setup, organization, and daily clean-up to maintain a safe and inviting learning environment. Support transitions, routines, and daily rhythms that promote independence and consistency for young learners. Instruction & Learning Engage actively with children during whole-group, small-group, and individual activities. Support small-group lessons under the direction of the Lead Teacher and provide assistance as needed. Encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and positive social interaction through modeling and conversation. Supervision & Care Supervise children across settings, including the classroom, outdoor play, enrichment, and rest time, with attention to safety and emotional well-being. ? Support children in developing independence in self-care and conflict resolution skills. Discuss any incidents with the Lead Teacher to ensure continuity and care. Collaboration & Professionalism Partner closely with the Lead Teacher and Early Childhood Director to communicate classroom needs and observations. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school community events. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and alignment with Hollywood Schoolhouse's mission and values. Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related field preferred. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a school or childcare setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills. A nurturing, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting children's development.
