Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Bring your passion for supporting students to a dynamic opportunity as a Bus Aide supporting schools through the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. This contract role offers meaningful work for individuals experienced as Paraprofessionals or Certified Nursing Assistants, particularly those with experience assisting special needs children. Multiple openings are available across Philadelphia, PA, and surrounding communities including Aston, Morrisville, Plymouth Meeting, Ardmore, Radnor, Berwyn, Fort Washington, and Chester. In this position, you'll ride alongside students in the school bus, ensuring a safe, supportive environment during their daily commute. Shifts are 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon, typically between 6:30-8:30 am and 2:30-4:30 pm, totaling about 15 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
Background as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant Previous experience riding the bus with special needs students strongly preferred Comfortable working 1:1 or 2:1 with students Strong verbal de-escalation skills Compassionate, patient, and attentive to student needs
Responsibilities:
Ride to and from school with assigned students Provide attentive supervision, ensuring safety and comfort Assist drivers during student pick-up and drop-off Respond to students' emotional or behavioral needs Foster a calm, positive travel experience This contract extends through June 12, 2026, with the possibility to participate in Extended School Year and the following academic year. There is a strong chance of renewal for those who demonstrate dedication and reliability.
