DESCRIPTION:
Performs activities related to coordinating a library within a school building, including ordering and shelving books and materials and maintaining inventory, updating library information, checking out books and materials, and assisting students in using the library.
SALARY:
Classified, starting at Grade J, $20.13 based on previous job experience. 8 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday on the 9-month work calendar, paid over 12 months. Position is eligible for benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under the direct supervision of the librarian in the library and copy room. Understanding the purpose and function of a school library. Organizing and arranging a collection. Receiving and processing materials. Working with technology in the library. Developing a library schedule, maintaining inventory. Dealing with lost and overdue materials. Working with teachers and running copies for teachers. Responsible for setting up training sessions to educate students on how to use the library. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred. Possess good listening skills and works as a team player. Ability to work independently. Enjoys working with middle school students. Library instructional skills helpful. Bilingual skills preferred. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check. Links to
