PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT R-3 HEALTH AIDE PARAPROFESSIONAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR TITLE
Health Aide Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Prefer fluent in Spanish and English with verbal and written translation abilities. 3. First Aid and CPR care are required, or the ability to obtain such certificates within an acceptable amount of time. 4. One-year related work experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 5. Effective human relations/communications skills. 6. Demonstrated ability to accomplish basic office and clerical skills, including typing and filing, and a familiarity with school and office machines. Computer experience is preferred. 7. Ability to maintain information with strict confidentiality. 8. Ability to use common sense reasoning while applying first aid principles in dealing with problems involving few concrete or standardized situations.

Superintendent of Schools; Building Administrator; District Nurse; Supervisor.

JOB GOAL
Assists school Nurse in providing health services that facilitate and promote optimal learning for all children and youth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands and follows school health policies and assumes responsibility for assigned duties. 2. Assesses emergency situations and administers first aid as needed. 3. Maintains close communication with the school Nurse. 4. Contacts the school Nurse or designated personnel in case of major illness or serious injury. 5. Assists school Nurse as instructed with safety guidelines and processes in place for covid-19. 6. Uses discretion and respects confidentiality of information 7. Records health office visits, the student's symptoms, and the disposition made. 8. Confers with school Nurse regarding student's absences for health reasons (communicable disease, injury, hospitalization, etc.). 9. Assists school Nurse in scheduling, organizing and performing screening procedures, and following up on the sending of referrals. 10. Maintains health office records, reports and students' files. 11. Reports safety hazards. 12. Participates in ordering and inventory supplies. 13. Performs general clerical duties as may be assigned by the school nurse or principal. 14. Assist in keeping immunization records. 15. Administer medications under the delegated direction of the school Nurse. 16. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Nurse may from time-to-time assign.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary range is $18.66 to $21.12per hour with benefits. Work Hours are 8:00am to 3:20pm student contact days only Work starts August 3, 2026; school year ends May 21, 2027 Position is open until filled.
EVALUATION
At least annually by supervisor and/or building administrator.
