Description:
Full-time/ benefited position. Performs a variety of functions in a school library media center assisting the Library Media Director in the operation of the media center and assisting teachers and students in the full use of library services. Fills in as a High School Substite Teacher as needed.
Job Summary:
A media para will work directly with the principal. Manage the circulation desk, including but not limited to book circulation and creating reports such as overdue notices. Assist in the development and maintenance of the library collection, including the purchase, cataloging, processing and inventory of all library materials. Supervise library students and collaborate with classroom teachers. Provide support to staff and students in their search of books and information, offline and online. Assist in the management of student behavior. Maintain equipment relevant to library and associated technology operations. Communicate effectively with parents and library volunteers. Maintain an appropriate level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position will also offer support as a fill in substitute teacher when needed in the high school. Perform other job related duties as directed by the Library Media Director or Principal.
Qualifications:
Must hold a current Colorado Substitute teaching licence, High School diploma and a desire to work with children and teens.
Working Conditions:
Middle Park High School serves a population of approximately 275 students grades 9-12 from the rural communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Hot Sulphur, Granby, and Grand Lake.
